Karnataka Association Canberra

Objectives of the association :

* To promote, foster and maintain the cultural and linguistic heritage and interest of people from Karnataka.
* To promote friendship and respect between members of the association and others from India and Australia.
* To keep alive and promote customs, traditions and culture of India and of Karnataka amongst the younger generation.
* To help in the settling in of new immigrants from Karnataka.
* To liaise and cooperate with similar communities and societies in Australia.
* To provide interested people and organisations with information about the Karnataka people and culture

Welcome to Karnataka Association of Canberra (KAC) an association of Canberra residents hailing from the Kannada speaking state of Karnataka in India. The association has people from other parts of India who are interested in Karnataka as members. The aim of our association is to promote, preserve and maintain the cultural and linguistic heritage of Karnataka, to foster the interests of Kannadigas, and to enrich the diverse cultural mosaic of Australia with the best of Indian traditions.

Currently, the association celebrates Indian festivities and hosts several picnics and outings throughout the year. Our signature event is the Cultural Day in February/March every year when all families come together to present a wholesome entertain programme.

There are so many reasons why one should consider becoming part of our association he or she believes in. By this website we hope to get our message out to a larger audience of people interested in similar interests.
